The name just happened naturally

My deer rifle became "Old Reliable" after using it for fifteen years without issues. Didn't plan it, the name just stuck after enough hunts. Do names develop on their own or do you guys actually sit there trying to think of clever names for your guns?

Names usually just happen over time, not from planning it out. After using them for a while, some guns just get nicknames without even trying. When you force it, it always feels kinda lame.
