Once ruined a roast by overcooking it

I treated venison like beef and cooked it too long and it ended dry and tough. I learned the hard way that wild game needs different cooking..
 
Venison’s delicate. One minute too long and it’s jerky instead of roast.
 
It didn't make sense to me at first but since then, I treat venison more like a steak, it wants a hot pan and a quick sear..
