Hey everyone,

I thought it might be useful to start a thread where we can share our experiences with local gun shops. What makes a gun shop trustworthy to you? I know it can vary — for me, it's all about knowledgeable staff and fair prices. Have you had any great or terrible experiences? Maybe you found a gem or got burned by a place that just isn't up to par.

If there's a shop you'd recommend, let us know where it's located, what kind of selection they have for used guns, their prices, or any transfer fees you've encountered. Let's help each other out and make sure we know where to go when we need something! Looking forward to hearing your thoughts!

I'm relatively new to shooting and I've only done business with A&M tactical in Middletown. Not sure about transfer fees as I've only bought from them.
The guys there are fantastic to deal with, I'd especially recommend them if you're new to the gun world, they're knowledgeable and will spend all the time you need going over what you're interested it.
Great selection that is constantly being updated. Everyone should take a ride to see them.

Route 6 Outpost has come a long way from when it was Foster Bear Arms. Almost always the best price on Gun Genie. Adam is very knowledgeable about firearms

I would strongly recommend the Tiverton Rod and gun club. They have great ranges, a pro shop for members and even an archery range and stocked pond for members

The Preserve in Hope Valley has been a good place to find a lot of equipment, both fishing and hunting, and...guns. They also have a lot of accessories for hunting and fishing as well. I am primarily a shooter/hunter and...a maybe/sometimes fisherman. D&L in Warwick as well is a good place with a large inventory of powder, ammunition and a lot of new and used firearms.

I'm new to the forum so two things (1) how does one edit/add more content to a post they have already posted (2) I wanted to add Heritage Arms in West Warwick to my list of local gun shops. Heritage has a good inventory of powder, they carry quite a bit of inventory for shotgun reloading, and a small but decent used gun inventory. You never know what you will find in used guns, what gem you may find. They also carry a decent inventory of "AR" parts, if they don't have it they will get it, and their AR prices are decent. My son is tighter than bark on a tree, and he buts AR parts from them.

Please skip #1, I figured it out👍
