I tried a slug gun this deer season, and it wasn't what I thought. I figured it'd feel second-best to a rifle but it felt right once I set it up. It shot more accurately than I remembered at mid-range ...good enough for the woods I hunt in. The recoil kicked a bit but I handled it after some practice. I felt confident shooting in brushy spots where rifles don't work as well.
I'm not ditching my rifle but for some areas, the slug gun is better. Has anyone else had a slug gun work better than they thought?
