Free-floating your barrel costs maybe $100 at most shops and the accuracy improvement on most rifles is immediate and measurable. Do it!
 
I’ve seen all sorts of fancy fixes, but the biggest upgrade on one of my rifles was just properly torqueing the action screws.
 
A free-float handguard is probably the best fifty bucks you'll ever spend. I even did mine myself right there in the garage, just with a Dremel and the handguard.

Yeah it’s one of those upgrades that actually shows up on paper instead of just the parts bill
